April 22

Chillicothe School District will hold early childhood screening April 22-24th at Garrison School in Chillicothe. This is a free screening for children 3 months to 4 years old. 646-1653 to schedule an appointment.


April 24

Parenting class called "Building Relationships in a Blended Family" is April 24th at 3:00pm at North Central Missouri Mental Health Center office basement in Trenton.

M.A.N. or Marine, Army, Navy group will meet April 24th at 11:30am at Golden Corral, open to veterans and active military personnel. 707-3387


Life Center Food Pantry will distribute food to needy families April 24th from1 2:30 to 5:30pm at 10 Elm in Chillicothe. Bring social security cards and birth dates for all household family members. 646-2231

April 25

A Father-Daughter dance sponsored by Trenton Chamber of Commerce will be April 25th from 6:00 to 8:00pm for ages 3 to 12 at First Christian fellowship Hall. $15 per couple, $5 per additional charge, includes a 4x6 photo.

A Medicare "Boot Camp" informational program will be April 25th 9:00am to 12:00pm at the Mary Immaculate Community Center Room in Gallatin. Register at 663-228

YMCA in Brookfield will hold their annual cookout April 25 and 26 from 10:30 to 6 at the YMCA Parking Lot in Brookfield.

April 26

A Benefit Whole Hog Dinner and Auction will be April 26th at 5:30pm at Braymer High School to help with medical expenses for Vicky Nibarger who has a rare disease.

The first fishing tournament of the year will be April 26 at 7:00am at the Grand River Boat Ramp in Chillicothe. This charity tournament is to raise money for the Community Cupboard of Hamilton. 973-6584

Methodist Church in Chillicothe will hold a pancake breakfast April 23rd from 4:30am to 9:00am at 500 west Business 36. Cost is $5 with proceeds to benefit the Haiti Mission Trip

Bishop Hogan 11th Annual Dinner Auction is April 26th with meal at 6:30 and auction at 7;30pm.Tickets are $8 in advance or $9 at the door.

A Food Drive for House of Prayer will begin April 26tth with the delivery of bags and fliers and pick up on May 3rd. This is an Eagle Scout Project. Information at 247-0924

Widowed Persons Support Group meets April 28th at 12:00pm at the community room of the First Christian Church in Chillicothe wit a carry in meal. Those attending should bring a food dish or desert. for transportation call 214-7180

A "First Friday" at the Swan Lake National Wildlife Refuge will be May 2nd at 5:00pm and will include an interactive show about weather from Mad Science at the Amphitheater at 7pm


May 3

A family style dinner followed by entertainment by local teens and young adults will be May 3rd at 6:00pm at Hamilton United Methodist Church. Proceeds to support a summer mission trip to Uganda. 816-583-2325 to make a reservation


A Model Train Show will be May 3rd from 9am to 4pm at Walsworth Community Center in Marceline with Operating train layouts, private vendors and more. Proceeds go to the Marceline Food Pantry, Boy Scout Troup 99 and to the community center. 376-2738
